YOU WILL BE IN HK AND NEED HELP?

ACCOMMODATION

Before you come to HK, you can search on the Internet for a place to live on. You should think in advance about your budget and what you need/want (security man, club house, own room, kitchen, bathroom, lift, close to office?) Living in HK is not cheap, compared to other countries. Just for your reference I have 15m2 one room apartment with kitchen, bathroom, roof and balcony in Hung Hom (Kowloon Side) for monthly~5000 HKD (incl. electricity).

If you could not find any room or apartment from outside of Hong Kong, then you should think about to stay in a hostel. After you have arrived here, you may find better a place to live.

SIGHTSEEING

You are a total HKG-Newbie? You do not know what you can do? Then the best way is to get an overview first from an official HP by the TI. Here you can find “general”, but also sometimes interesting information what is going on in HKG, as well as useful info e.g. the Dim Sum Guide. If you have not eat Dim Sum yet, then you should definetely go! My favorite restaurant is (very delicious, but a little bit expensive) Maxime’s Palace in Cityhall, Central. There waitress are going around with a small steam car to serve you. A lot of ppl enjoy the atmosphere by chatting and eating for several hours! .. or you can also check the inofficial HKG Travel Guide with a lot of insider tips, since that website has been written by a traveler his self! There is also another good insider HKG guide, but only in Japanese.

SHOPPING

In HKG you have plenty of opportunity for shopping, since sales will be all-year round and also there are a lot of sales. The biggest and most famous one is Citygateoutlet (Year round discount from 30 up to 70%).
OUTDOOR ACTITIVITIES

Beside a lot indoor activities, HKG can also offers you a beatiful nature. Mountains for hiking or beaches for swimming or just relaxing can be reached easily! Please keep in mind it is better to hike in the mountain with a friends or a group!

You may also consider to discover HKG by a watertour or by helicopter! Did you know that pink dolphins are swimming around HKG? Since I love dolphins, I took part at a pink dolphins tour. I was very lucky I could see more than 29 dolphins! It makes me happy to see them swimming in the nature!

PARTY
If you are German and get to used to celebrate a party with big noises, then there is a hardly a place when you can celebrate, except Lan Kwai Fong on HKIsland or the counterpart Knufsford Steps in KWLN. Party at home without complains - No way! Then better to party on the sea or at the street by a booked Party-Junk or Party-tram!
